An Atlanta high-school teacher has been killed after being struck by two students on her way to the senior prom.
33-year old Leah O’Brien was on her way to chaperone the dance when the teenager’s car hit hers as she was making a turn.
The Lakeside High School teacher had her 8-year old daughter with her at the time that is now in critical but stable condition while O’Brien died at the scene.
The two 18 and 19 unidentified students were hospitalized with non-threatening conditions.
O’Brien taught science at the Georgia school and is already missed by her students and colleagues who have left comments on Facebook.
Lakeside principal Jason Clyne said she was always smiling and enthusiastic and the accident is beyond her comprehension.
