It’s never too late. That’s the lesson to be learned from Anthony Brutto. This weekend Brutto, 94, will be West Virginia University’s oldest graduate ever. It took him 75 years but little by little, class by class, he was able to fulfill the requirements necessary to graduate.
His wife, Donna, encouraged his pursuit. I think it’s wonderful that he’s getting this after all these years.” she said. “He most certainly deserves it.”
Brutto began taking courses in 1939 when tuition was only $50. He returned to school in 1946 but soon after was forced to take a break after his wife became ill.
Where there’s a will there’s a way. Congratulations!
