Cordell Broadus, son of rapper Snoop Dogg, has given up football. News of his departure surfaced after Broadus did not show up for UCLA’s pre-season workout. Highly recruited out of Bishop Gorman high school in Las Vegas, the athletic wide receiver surprised many by his decision, even his coaches.
“Cordell informed me yesterday that he has decided to pursue other passions in his life – in particular his love of film through his company Film School Productions” announced UCLA Bruins head coach, Jim Mora. “Cordell is an amazing young man with many talents, and we wish him nothing but the best as he continues to pursue his degree at UCLA.”
This is not the only issue Mora has had to address regarding a player whose parent happens to be a celebrity. Last month hip-hop mogul Sean “P Diddy” Combs, whose son Justin plays for the Bruins, was arrested after an alleged altercation with the team’s strength and conditioning coach.
